ADHD Nurse Practitioner

ADHD Nurse Practitioner

I qualified as a mental health nurse in 1992 and have recently left the NHS after 35 years of practice. During that time, I worked in management and clinical roles with adults and young people in a variety of settings. These include community mental health teams, a nurse-led Glasgow crisis service and most recently, primary care where our service was nominated for and successfully achieved several awards.

I have worked increasingly with people of all ages, experiencing symptoms of neurodiversity and one of my main reasons for leaving the NHS was to allow me to focus on this particular client group. In addition to being a Registered Mental Health Nurse, I have a Bsc in Professional Practice, am a registered Independent Nurse Prescriber and have qualifications in Advanced Clinical Assessment and Examination as well as a range of therapies such as Safety and Stabilisation, Decider Skills Training, SPIRIT and Counselling.

Outside of work, I enjoy a busy family life and plan to set myself some exciting challenges for the year ahead!
