We have ensured that all staff at ADHD Direct are fully informed about their responsibilities under the Duty of Candour legislation. Our team understands the importance of openness and transparency when responding to incidents that may cause harm or distress.
How We Have Done This
– We have a written Duty of Candour Policy in place.
– All staff are informed of this policy during induction and through annual training.
– Regular clinical governance meetings review relevant procedures, including Duty of Candour.
– Staff are signposted to national training resources and e-learning modules on openness and effective communication.

We ensure staff are trained to deliver apologies appropriately. Training and supervision are provided to ensure communication is supportive and respectful.

Support mechanisms are available to any staff or service users involved in an incident, including:
– Clinical supervision and debriefing for staff.
– Signposting service users to appropriate emotional and psychological support.
