Last weekend was special for ADHD Direct as we proudly took part in PRIDE, offering on-site screening for ADHD and Autism (ASD) and speaking with many wonderful people who wanted to learn more about neurodiversity.
🎉 Thank You to Our Team & Visitors
A huge thank you to our clinicians who gave their time and energy to carry out screenings and speak with attendees. We completed over 100 ADHD and ASD screenings, helping many individuals take that vital first step in exploring whether neurodivergence might be part of their story.
We were also touched to see so many of our existing patients—both adults and children—stop by the stall to say hello and show their support. Your presence was felt, and it made the day even more meaningful.

🌈 Building Bridges Beyond ADHD Direct
One of the most inspiring parts of the day was connecting with many other services and support organisations:
- Teams supporting victims of crime
- Services working with people in the criminal justice system
- Numerous volunteers representing grassroots support groups
It was a truly collaborative atmosphere, with everyone generously giving up their Saturday to share knowledge, offer help, and create a supportive environment for those who need it most.
We’re excited to share that we’ll be providing complimentary ADHD training to several of the support groups we met—and many of them kindly offered to share their expertise with us in return. These mutual exchanges are exactly what community outreach should look like.
If you were one of the small businesses or organisations at PRIDE but didn’t get a chance to speak to us and you’re interested in training for your team, please get in touch—we’d be happy to extend this offer to all the demonstrators who attended.
🧠 Why Screening Matters
Whether you’re just starting your journey or have long suspected you might be neurodivergent, here’s what we want you to know:
- Screening is a great first step.
Validated ADHD and ASD screening tools are widely available—including on our website. These can help you understand your challenges, recognise potential traits, and give you something concrete to take to your GP for a referral if needed. - You have options.
If the NHS pathway is too long, closed, or simply not the right route for you, we’d be happy to support you at ADHD Direct. If you decide not to pursue private care, our website still offers plenty of helpful resources, free of charge.
✨ A Day of Community, Courage & Connection
We were deeply moved by how many people came by to show their support—even those who already had a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD. Their presence helped create a sense of solidarity and encouragement for others who are just starting to explore these aspects of themselves.
We also heard heartbreaking stories—people who were dismissed by healthcare professionals, denied referrals because they “have a job” or “didn’t fidget enough.” These outdated myths are not only frustrating but harmful. And they must end.
What did shine through yesterday was a population of people who have always felt different, struggled with executive functioning, and been told for years that they just need to try harder, concentrate more, or be less loud and annoying. For many of you, yesterday was the first time you found language, validation, and your tribe.

☔ A Note of Thanks
Though the day was cut short by rain we did our last screening at 3.30pm- so sadly lost the extra 90 Minutes we wanted to provide but by that time we were drenched- although , the spirit of the event was never dampened. Our heartfelt thanks to PRIDE for providing a platform where people could engage in conversations about neurodiversity, diagnosis, and treatment—and where stigma was replaced by education, empathy, and empowerment.
If you came along, thank you for your time. If we didn’t get a chance to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Keep an eye out on SM and our web page where we continue to share information to educate and empower
Let’s keep the conversation going.
With pride and purpose,
The ADHD Direct Team
