It’s weird, you know. Sometimes I can be so uncaring about people in general, but then my empathy is like an external force that comes out of nowhere, and suddenly I’m the most empathetic person around. I’ll see a homeless man on the street and tell myself I don’t care, but deep down I think I must be one of the most caring people alive. I think that’s just the way it is with ADHD — we’re some of the most compassionate people in the world. When we see others struggle, we don’t just feel bad for them because it’s morally right. Instead, we picture ourselves in their exact shoes and think about how lucky we are to be where we are. Global tension has climbed to an all-time high in recent years, and the footage coming out from across the world is truly heart breaking.
